Another LetBox KVM VPS Free Trial Review

Hi there,

I would like to give LetBox KVM VPS Free Trial feedback from @key900. I had fresh install Debian 8 before the test. Below is the specification:

root@debian:~# wget --no-check-certificate https://vhwinfo.com/vhwinfo.sh -O - -o /dev/null|bash
          ____
    _____/\ \ __ ___ _______ ____________
   /\ / \___\ _ _ / / / / | / / _/ | / / ____/ __ \
  / \ \ / / | | / / /_/ /| | /| / // // |/ / /_ / / / /
 / \ \/___/ \ | |/ / __ / | |/ |/ // // /| / __/ / /_/ /
/ \_________\ |___/_/ /_/ |__/|__/___/_/ |_/_/ \____/
\ / / vHWINFO 1.1 May 2015 | https://vhwinfo.com

dnsdomainname: Name or service not known
 hostname: debian. (public ip )
 SO: Debian GNU/Linux 8.8 (jessie) 64 bits
 kernel: 3.16.0-4-amd64
 virtual: KVM
 cpu: Common KVM processor
 vcpu: 2 cores / 6600.21 bogomips
 RAM: 1000 MB (49% used) / swap 0 MB (0% used)
 HD: 16G (8% used) / inkling speed 1.5 GB/s
 cachefly 10MB: 65.8 MB/s (probably Gigabit Port)

VPS specification is very good. I think the CPU should be 1 core. I don't know why vHWInfo read it as 2 cores processor.

Then I do memory usage check:

root@debian:~# time free -h
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 1.0G 150M 849M 24M 26M 71M

real 0m0.002s
user 0m0.000s
sys 0m0.000s

Then I do storage usage check:

root@debian:~# time df -h

/dev/vda1 15G 864M 14G 7% /

real 0m0.003s
user 0m0.000s
sys 0m0.000s

Then I do apt-get update and upgrade:

root@debian:~# time apt-get update

Then do DD to test storage performance:

root@debian:~# dd if=/dev/zero of=sb-io-test bs=64k count=16k conv=fdatasync; rm -rf sb-io-test
16384+0 records in
16384+0 records out

root@debian:~# dd if=/dev/zero of=sb-io-test bs=64k count=16k conv=fdatasync; rm -rf sb-io-test

root@debian:~# dd if=/dev/zero of=sb-io-test bs=64k count=16k conv=fdatasync; rm -rf sb-io-test
16384+0 records in
16384+0 records out
1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB) copied, 0.788809 s, 1.4 GB/s

Storage performace is very good, 1.4 GB/s, this is epic. Then I do benchmark from FreeVPS script to test storage and network:

root@debian:~# wget freevps.us/downloads/bench.sh -O - -o /dev/null|bash
Benchmark started on Tue May 16 13:45:44 EDT 2017
Full benchmark log: /root/bench.log

It took 16 hops from my location to VPS in the Psychz Networks. It took more route compared with my VPS in Los Angeles, which is only 11 hops. But overall the VPS performace is very good.

I think my short feedback is enough. Thank you @key900.

How to run private (dedicated) proxy business?

$

0

I have analyzed popular hosting dedi offers and their IP block prices and I their prices are always higher then proxy prices on the market.

Popular dedi proxy services charge about $1 per private (dedicated) proxy IP and if I look at pricing for server + IPs it is always higher then that price.

Does anybody know to explain how to find dedi server + IP block that will fit into market price below $1 per IP(proxy)?

I'm sure that proxy companies get all setups for very low price as they are making profit with $1 per proxy price.

Post Altranative Offers For Online.net Kidechire

So as you all know, online.net is taking all kidechire one by one due to EOL of the product. So as per my point of view all the Kidechire users need to move somewhere safe including me. I'm inviting all the providers to post there best offers. Here are the requirements. Please don't offer openvz because we all need KVM or small dedis :)

CPU : 1 Core
Ram : 1 GB
HDD : 20 GB SSD Port : 1Gbps
Bandwidth : 1TB

it's great if we can get some DDOS protection too. If anyone can match online.net offer 1.99 Euro with KVM I like to move asap. Otherwise price needs to stay between $1 to $4

Alternative to SolusVM & OnApp

Hello,

I'm looking for a solid alternativ to SolusVM. I won't consider OnApp due to its high pricing. My requirements are the following: -WHMCS or Blesta billing module -Support for OpenVZ or XenServer -WHMCS or Blesta billing module (or built-in billing) -Self hosted (no SaaS such as Virtkick) -Can run on a remote master server

Does anyone have any suggestions? I considered OpenStack and CloudStack, but they don't work with a remote master and don't have proper billing modules.

Alec

I had Singapore services with LeaseWeb and I must say they are all very solid and stable :-)

Hi guys,

Looking for a little help if possible, from everyone's view point what is an acceptable time to acknowledge a customers request to cancel.

I have two paid services with Aceshells been a customer roughy 7years I think, however it's come to a point now where I no longer require their services.

I have raised a support for each service to confirm I wish to cancel on the 12/05/2017 followed by an email on the 13/05/2017 to sales, service and admin address, however no response. And left a message on their chat 15/05/2017.

I might being impatient but I would of though I would of heard something by now.

Hello ***

We continue to recieve attacks directly towards are Proxmox enviornment, these attacks are only effecting our Proxmox cluster services.

Services hosted on our Virtualizor KVM + Hetzner OpenVZ node's are not effected and continue to operate, due to the ongoing incovience we can offer the following.

1/ Setup a fresh KVM VM on our Virtualizor enviornment and help support your data transfer across to the new VM (Non IP Change)

or

2/ Setup a fresh OpenVZ VM on our Hetzner Virtualizor servers and help support your data transfer across to the new VM (IP Change) - Limited Stock

Both will come with a 1 month extension on your current renewal date.

Please let us know which option you require and the OS you would like installed on your new VM.

Again we appologise for the past 48 hours of service disruptions

Thanks, ZXHost
